Sewing 101 - 11/16
Sewing 101 - 11/16
Join our Sewing 101 class for an engaging and informative introduction to the world of sewing. During this 4-hour class on Saturday, November 16th from 10 AM to 2 PM, you'll learn essential sewing skills, including how to wind a bobbin, thread and operate your sewing machine, and understand the functions of all those mysterious knobs. We'll cover basic machine operation and troubleshooting, explore various stitches like straight stitch, zig-zag stitch, decorative stitches, backstitching, and topstitching. As a bonus, you'll gain an introduction to basic construction techniques by crafting a set of denim coasters from repurposed materials. By the end of the class, you'll take home at least one coaster and have the materials and skills to create a set of four.
In this small-group session, limited to just 6 participants, you'll get hands-on experience with your own electric, domestic sewing machine. In this class you can bring your own and its foot petal or we have a few we can lend. Leant machines are on a first come first serve basis so you would need to message Brooke (brooke@brookelane.com) if you would like to use one. Other than that, bring any bobbins, manuals, and fabric scissors you have. While a sewing kit is helpful, it's not mandatory.
If you have any questions about the class please reach out to us at info@brookelane.com. Please review our Class Policy Page here.
